Anna,Nadine and Alain met in 1990 in Aachen (Germany) during a women's music festival. Nadine and Alain played on Friday evening with their band BENE GESSERIT and Anna performed on Saturday night. A reciprocal admiration quickly evolved into friendship.In 1996, during a visit of Anna’s in Belgium,they decided to organize a recording session in the small studio located in Alain and Nadine 's cellar in Nivelles.They were really surprised by the results and decided to form a duo including the women,THE CHOPSTICK SISTERS .Some months later,Alain agreed to join them. In 2002 ,one of their dreams came true : a concert at the Grot van Eros festival, in Terneuzen, Holland.

Why the chopstick sisters ????
chopstick: 0n stage Anna and Nadine are just like chopsticks :Anna stays almost motionless and Nadine moves.
All three love Asian food, especially the dishes eaten with chopsticks.
sisters : since then met they know that they belong to that experimental and eccentric singers "family"...they have always called one another" my voice sister" or " my toy sister" ( for ages both have used toys in their performances)

characteristics
the band can only research, record or play live every two years ,when Anna comes for short visits in Belgium( she lives in Los Angeles ).Yet they are really efficient... the musicians have a real skill based upon improvisation and the two women's voices match extremely well. Anna's is warm,melodious,her way is very musical.Nadine's is abrasive, sometimes violent. Alain is rather discrete, his goals is to emphasize his " sisters" voices. Onstage, they use small instruments,all sorts of toys, diverted objects .Recently , Alain makes electroaccoustic loops and plays an hybrid instrument made from an old electric guitar.

ANNA HOMLER
In addition of her solo career, she collaborated or played with Steve Moshier ,David Moss, Ethan James, Sylvia Hallett, Voices Of Kwahn, Steve Beresford, Peter Kowald, Richard Sanderson, Geert Wageman, Pavel Fajt, Sugarconnection, Tom Cora, Temps Perdu….she also made exhibitions/performances with her PHARMACIA POETICA project…altogether,she performed in 14 different countries and invented her own language.

Sings with Bene Gesserit, Ornament and Crime Arkhestra, paints and writes crazy lyrics
ALAIN NEFFE
Used to run the INSANE label, played in Kosmose, Sic, Cortex, Subject, Japanese Genius, Human Dance, I Scream, Pseudo Code and still concentrate on Bene Gesserit, Human Flesh, Messy Goes Insane…writes lyrics too
